Before the official establishment of the Ambachew Mekonnen Foundation (AMF), Dr. Ambachew Mekonnen’s daughter, now the Executive Director of the AMF, organized a 1-year memorial ceremony in June 2020. The event, held in collaboration with the KDI School of Public Policy and Management at KDI School in South Korea, took place during her time pursuing a Master of Development Policy (MDP).
The ceremony engaged 30 participants from diverse backgrounds, including KDI staff, professors (including the Dean of KDI School), Ethiopian students in Korea, and international students from around the world. This meaningful occasion not only honored Dr. Ambachew Mekonnen’s memory but also united a global community to celebrate his legacy and the profound impact he had on many lives.
